How it works...

Once your Film School week has been booked, organisers need to get students signed up for the course. Film School class size needs to be 12-16 students. This may seem like a small number but it is this way so that we can completely engage with each student and they get the most from the week.
Film School consists of five Monday-Friday sessions each lasting 1 ½ hours, this is best done immediately after school ends but can be adapted to fit into lessons in the week or lunchtimes. We can also run two courses consecutively, one at lunchtime and one after school. Please talk to us about the format that would suit you best and we will do our best to accommodate.
At the end of the week, every student will be awarded with a completion certificate. Their footage is then taken away by our expert film-makers and edited to the highest standard into short films. After a maximum of 2 weeks, the organiser will receive the DVD of finished short-films. They can then organise a screening for the students involved to watch each other’s work.
Each year, a National Awards Ceremony will be held to screen, recognise and reward the best short films produced by students of Film School

Each student will get a ‘media pack’ with all the worksheets and materials they will need for the course, that they can take away with them. They will also receive a completion certificate and ‘media pass’.
Each student will get a copy of their short film on DVD soon after the end of the week. Plus we will send a spare copy of each short film to you/the school. We will also send you a copy of the diary room answers. If you want any extra copies we can get them for you at cost.
You will receive a copy of the Crux resource RRP £60 (see thecrux.co.uk for more details)
Each short film will be uploaded to a secure password protected part of our website unique to your school/location so that you and the students can see and download the mini masterpieces!
